Those thick limbs were a very short-lived experiment (in fact, I think I only used them in that one comic). I feel like they make Beartato look too humanoid and out-of-balance. He looks funnier as a big ball with tiny arms and legs.

Many years ago, when I was but a wee lad, a friend and I were hanging out and saying nonsense words, as kids are wont to do. One of the words my friend made up was “nedroid,” and I thought it was a funny word, so I stole it for my own use.
Later on, I drew a series of comics featuring a character called “Nedroid.” Then I used it as my screen name when I first got on the internet, and it just stuck with me. I use it because it is unique and searching for it usually leads directly to my stuff, or at least it did until recently when some Japanese thing with a similar name started to exist and it irritates me to no end.
This is the 4th comic on nedroid’s website (http://nedroid.com/2006/02/2008-hoops/), the first comic to contain Beartato (that we know of) and when I met Anthony Clark at Emerald City Comicon I asked him one simple question:
Why did Beartato’s house burn down? WELL FEAR NOT AS THE TERRIBLE SECRET IS REVEALED IN THIS EXCLUSIVE REVELATION!
Now everything makes sense… forever.

Because there’s too much stuff! I can’t even keep track of all the pictures I’ve uploaded over the years.
I like the idea of having different places for different types of stuff. It’s very easy to post a quick drawing to Tumblr compared to uploading it to my main site and making a post for it. I also kind of like the idea that not everything is permanently available; then if it does pop up again later, people can be surprised!
