Here’s a higher-res version of the Adventure Time #10 cover that I did for Boom!
One thing I like about working for Boom! is that they really like you to let your own styles show through in your covers so I get to have fun putting my own spin on Pendleton’s characters.
You can pre-order the comic here: http://www.boom-studios.com/adventure-time-10-cover-b-available-for-pre-order.html
Tyson is so good at art you guys
Comics Alliance posted a preview of the backup comic I drew for the upcoming Adventure Time #3
Yes. Yes. Yes yes yes yes yes.
In 2010, David (Wondermark), Matt (all the stories) and I (Adventure Time, To Be or Not To Be, Dinosaur Comics) put out a book called “Machine Of Death"! It was a crowdsourced collection of short stories written by a bunch of awesome people we’d never met, all based on the same premise originally proposed by T-Rex: what if there was a machine that could tell, from just a sample of your blood, you how you were going to die? It was a crazy book that nobody wanted to publish, so after a few years of trying we just straight-up published it ourselves.
The book became the #1 bestselling book on Amazon.com the day it launched. It ended up on a bunch of “best books of the year" lists. It was a super awesome story!
In one week we’ll be launching the sequel, called This Is How You Die. It’s going to be great: legit better in every way, with tons of awesome stories in a variety of genres (YES there is a choose-your-own-path Machine of Death story, OF COURSE there is). We went through almost 2000 submissions to select the 31 stories in this book. We’re all SUPER proud of it. But what can you do to top becoming the #1 bestselling book on Amazon?
You try to make every one of authors in the book a New York Times Bestselling Author, by getting the book on the NYT bestsellers list.
This will be especially awesome since, like the first volume, this will be the first publishing credit for most of the authors in the book. We honestly don’t know if this idea is possible. But we know it’s possible to try.
Every sale from today onwards counts towards our NYT status. If this book sounds at all interesting, and you think you might like reading inventive and memorable stories curated by a dude whose comics you maybe like, then why not head over to Amazon.com (or .ca or .co.uk) and get the book? They’ve got it on sale for 30% off retail.
This book is gonna be insane. I can’t wait for you to read it! And check out thisishowyoudie.com for more information, including some free stories from the book and a SWEET VIDEO :o
gardenlyrics-deactivated2016050 asked:
Are you asking me to tell you why you didn’t know a thing? I don’t know, I guess there are a lot of possibilities. Maybe you didn’t pay attention in school. Maybe you have that Memento brain problem. This is really something that you would have a better grasp on than I would.
Adventure Time Volume 1 is out! This collects the first arc from the comics AND the backups AND bonus materials. If you’ve never been able to track down some of the issues this gives you it all! You should probably definitely buy this book right away. Plus right now Amazon has it on sale for almost half off!
THIS IS OUT TOMORROW, bros! In comic shops, anyhow! I recommend those as a good alternative to Amazon, but get thee to this book however you can.
Aw geez I didn’t know Amazon was breaking the street date. If you can, buy it from a comic book shop - they are awesome AND they have staff that can point you to more comics you might like based on this, PLUS they can make sure you get the upcoming issues by putting them aside for you! COMIC SHOPS 4EVER
Here’s the store nearest you - check it out!
If you missed out on picking up these comics, here’s a good chance to fix that. If it includes all the backup stories that means it also includes my backup story which I thought was pretty okay.
UPDATE: I originally said this volume contains the backup stories: turns out it does not! Those are being collected in a separate book, so that they might shine all on their own. Sorry about the confusion!!
Earlier I mistakenly supported the statement that this trade contains the backup stories. As it happens, that was incorrect. It’s still a great comic and you would still do well to pick it up!
